Who Pays
Private Pay – The resident pays with their
own personal funds from a pension, retirement account,
CD, savings or other source of income.
Medicare - Medicare is a program of the federal
government designed to provide medical insurance for
persons over the age of 65 or older, or for people who
are permanently disabled. Medicare Part A pays for inpatient
hospital care and services at skilled nursing centers
for up to 100 days if medically necessary following
a 3 day in patient hospital stay.
Medicaid – Medicaid is a Federal and State
of Indiana program administered by the Local Division
of Family and Children for those needing assistance
to pay for all or part of their healthcare expenses.
If a resident is eligible for Medicaid based on their
income and assets, Medicaid will pay all or part of
the cost of skilled nursing care, as long as care is
determined medically necessary.
Long Term Care Insurance – Some residents
have specific insurance policies to cover the cost of
long-term care services. Sanctuary at St. Joseph's is
happy to work with insurance cases on an individual
basis. All private insurance billing by Sanctuary at St. Joseph's is done as a convenience to the resident
and their family. However, the resident will have the
financial burden to fulfill the payment to Sanctuary at St. Joseph's.
Private Insurance - There may be times when
a resident has been involved in an accident and there
is either automobile or other liability insurance responsible
for payment of resident’s medical expenses. Sanctuary at St. Joseph's is happy to work with insurance
cases on an individual basis. All private insurance
billing by Sanctuary at St. Joseph's is done as a convenience
to the resident and their family. However, the resident
will have the financial burden to fulfill the payment
to Sanctuary at St. Joseph's.
